Monument to Duke de Richelieu

The monument to Armand Emmanuel du Plessis, Duc (Duke) de Richelieu, who was one of the most popular Odessa governors. The monument to Duke Richelieu was built in 1828.

Sculptor I. Martos carved out the Duke and dressed him in a Roman toga with a scroll in hand and three brass high relief, symbolizing agriculture, trade and justice. Now it is the most recognizable symbol of Odessa.
