The British Council is an international organization which represents the UK in the field of education and culture. In Ukraine, the British Council has offices in Kiev, Donetsk, Lviv and Odessa.

Library of the British Council is for those whose professional or amateur interest related to the study of English. Here you can find dictionaries, encyclopedias and methodological literature, which can be used in the reading room of the British Council. Services of the reading room are free.

Books and albums on the history of Great Britain, professional and popular publications on art, fiction, contemporary British authors, as well as new British films, music CDs, which previously owned the British Council, was  handed to the library of the International Humanitarian University. Within the walls of this institution the British Council is currently located.

Different kinds of testing English language for entrance to the universities of Great Britain are held in the Council. The names of exams, dates and prices are on the website of the British Council. 
On the site of council it is also possible to pass self-test on the level of knowledge of English by the standards of the Council of Europe.

For the general public are held festivals of the new British film, various competitions, training sessions and exhibitions. The information about ongoing projects can be found on site of Council.
